ENCOUNTER

Encounter is Campus Crusade’s Winter Conference. Its held from December 28th-January 1st. Its a chance to worship, learn, connect, and grow with friends, but most importantly a chance to encounter Christ, whether for the first time, or in a way that you’d never encountered him before.  Whether its praying in the new year, giving out care packages, playing soccer in the hotel halls at 3AM, or having a deep conversation with a new friend, you’ll leave with great memories and an excitement for where God is taking you!

Voice Of Beauty

Join CRU and Purple in the Griffith Film Theater on October 14th to celebrate the strength, courage, and beauty of the women and girls in Africa. Live dance performance by the Kenyan Covenant Sisters and a lecture by David Johnson, author of 2 books on Africa. Come and learn about the lives of women and girls in Africa and find out practical ways to help.

First Things First
Colossians 1:15-20

At this week’s large group meeting, Cole will be delivering the first in a
series of four messages from the book of Colossians. This week’s message,
“First Things First,” will explore the question: “What Comes First in
Life?” If you ever struggle to balance priorities here at Duke, this
message may be helpful to you. Colossians 1:15-20 offers an important
perspective that just might serve to radically ‘re-order’ your life.

So come out to the Nelson Music Room in the East Duke building Wednesday night at 7:30 to hear Cole, spend time with friends, and worship our Creator in community.

Fajitas and Frisbee

Hey everybody, come out Friday evening at for some flying frisbees and fresh-cooked food on the quad. The fun starts at 6:00 and will go till 8, or for as long as people feel like throwing frisbees around. We will be on east campus by the gazebo next to the East Duke building.

Orientation Schedule

Thursday, Aug 20, 4:00-4:45pm: FRESHMAN KICKOFF MEETING: Come find out everything you ever wanted to know about Cru! Meet some of the upperclassmen and hear about what we have to offer you. Grab a cold bottle of water and a snack before you head off to the Durham Bulls game. Carr 103.

Thursday, Aug 20: 9:30pm BEN AND JERRY’S ICE CREAM SOCIAL. Drop by for free Ben and Jerry’s and meet some of the Cru in the courtyard between the Marketplace and Brown.

Saturday, Aug 22: CRU PICNIC, 12:00-1:30pm. Come join us for FREE food at the Gazebo area behind East Duke Building. A relaxed atmosphere where you can hang out, play sports, or just meet new friends.
